YONI STEAM FAQ

What is a yoni steam?

Also known as vaginal steaming or v-steaming, yoni steaming is a holistic health practice in which a woman allows the warmth of herbal steam to gently permeate her vagina. Yoni steaming is a powerful ancient remedy that has been used for centuries by women worldwide. This gentle treatment provides effective support for the female reproductive system, and invites reconnection with the powerful, creative energy of a woman's center.

Who should be yoni steaming?

Yoni steaming is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with your body and reignite your vibrance. We encourage most women to try a yoni steam (aka. vaginal steam)! You are likely to see great benefit to this ancient remedy if you suffer from irregular or painful periods, infertility, uterine fibroids, perennial tears, bladder and yeast infections, vaginal or ovarian cysts, hemorrhoids or scarring from C-sections, hysterectomies and laparoscopies. Yoni steaming is also recommended even if you are not experiencing any of the above, as it is a great way to soothe and pamper yourself, and is known to relieve anxiety in women.

Who should NOT be yoni steaming?

First and most importantly, women who are pregnant, or think there is any possibility that they might be, should NOT do any type of yoni steam. Doing so may endanger the pregnancy, as many of the herbs used can alter hormone levels and can cause contractions of the uterus. For the same reason, it is also not recommended for women who have an Intrauterine Device (IUD). Women who have any type of internal infection (cervical, uterine or ovarian inflammation), or a fever, are encouraged not to steam until the symptoms have passed. Women also should not steam while menstruating or when open sores or blisters are present.

How often should I yoni steam?

As part of an overall self-care regime, we recommend that women steam two to three times per month, always during weeks in which you are not menstruating. Women who suffer from pain, bloating or exhaustion during menstruation should steam two to three times within the week before menstruation. If you are experiencing fertility challenges, we recommend steaming once per week, and then twice during pre-ovulation, to clear your womb and make sure that the tissue is moist and that the cervical fluids are clear and copious. Steam for 2-3 months before you resume your intention to conceive. For the postpartum, we recommend waiting until your lochia has passed and any external wounds have closed before beginning to steam — usually just a few days. You can then steam 2-3 times per week for 3-4 weeks to facilitate healing and toning of the uterus and vagina. Women who are experiencing or who have passed menopause should steam at least three times per year for maintenance, but may steam more often if it feels right. If your challenges are chronic, you may want to steam up to three times per week to ensure the greatest results.

When is the best time of the month to steam?

You can steam at any time of the month, as long as you are not menstruating. It is typically recommended that for treating menstrual pain, you do you at least two vaginal steams in the week leading up to your period. After doing so, you will likely see a change in the fluid you pass when your period begins. You may also steam once after your cycle ends, to clear out any excess materials.

What should I expect after doing the steam?

Your menstrual cycle can and does change after doing a yoni steam. Often, there is a great deal of material that is "encrusted" to the inside of your womb, which is expelled after doing the yoni steam. The herbs have a powerful effect on the uterus, dislodging much of what is stuck. Sometimes this means your flow will be very heavy, dark and thick for just a day or two, and other times it just extends the length of your period to get it all out. Ultimately, your next period will be much lighter and more pleasant than ever before. Other than feeling relaxed and pampered, you should not expect to see results immediately after the steam (there will be no visible discharge at the time).

WHEN SHOULD I AVOID DOING A STEAM?

  • Pregnant or if there is any possibility of pregnancy.

  • During your menstrual cycle.

  • Experiencing a fever.

  • Have an IUD (please remove before your service)

  • Experiencing extremely heavy flowing menses.

  • Have any open cuts, wounds, stitches and or sores.

  • With genital piercings. ALL Piercings must be removed prior to arrival because they may heat and possibly cause burning.

Ultrasonic Body Cavitation

Can I lose weight with Ultrasonic Cavitation?

Ultrasonic Cavitation is not a treatment for obesity nor is it a weight loss procedure. Rather is a method for ‘reshaping’ and ‘toning’ the body. It is particularly intended to reduce localized fat tissues which are resistant to exercise around the abdomen (love handles), buttocks, and thighs (saddle bags), that won’t easily go away by simple dieting and exercise.

Is Ultrasonic Cavitation a safe procedure?

Yes, it is a safe, comfortable, and non-invasive procedure with virtually no side effects. It does not require anesthesia, leaves no scars and does not require any post treatment. The ultrasound energy is designed to target fatty tissues beneath the skin only, and does not affect the blood vessels, nerves and connective tissues.

Is the procedure painful?

No, the treatment is painless. A slight tingling sensation or buzzing in the ear may sometimes be felt during the treatment. Some heat sensation may also be felt during treatment but no pain. Any slight reddening of the skin which may sometimes develop during or soon after treatment quickly disappears.

On which parts of the body is the treatment most beneficial?

Thighs (saddle bags), Abdomen (love handles), Hips (flanks), Buttock, Upper arm i.e. the areas of localized fat. However it cannot be applied to the head, neck, chest, back and over bony areas.

How long is a treatment session?

Treatment times may vary depending on the area being treated but a typical session will last between 40 minutes to an hour. This includes the preparation, treatment and post treatment procedures.

Does it work on Cellulite?

Yes, low frequency ultrasound (40kHz) generally works well on cellulite by focusing the ‘cavitation effect’ on the superficial fat tissue. Best results are obtained when the ultrasound is applied in conjunction with the radio frequency’ (RF) treatment which helps to tighten and tone the skin. Cellulite is the appearance of dimpled skin.

Where are fat cells stored?

Fat is stored primarily as triglycerides inside adipocytes cells located between the muscles and skin. The numbers of fat cells are the same regardless of a person’s weight but the size of the cells can vary greatly.

What instant result can I expect?

The ultrasonic cavitation treatment will often yield immediate results which you can feel, touch and see and it can be long lasting. Some clients can experience between 1 to 5 cm. of circumference reduction after a single session with increasing results after subsequent visits. However, more significant results will be noticed after the second and third treatment.

What long term results can I expect with Ultrasonic Cavitation?

You can achieve ‘volume reduction’ of fatty tissues and ‘toning of the body’. The results are gradual over a number of weeks as your body clears the broken down fatty tissues. It is not uncommon to achieve up to 10 cm reduction by the end of the course of treatments. The results can be long lasting provided you follow a healthy diet and exercise program. However it is very easy to deposit fat again into the tissues if one over-eats, consumes too much alcohol or doesn’t exercise. Ultimately the result may vary depending on the individual’s different tissue structure, treatment area, age, metabolism, medication, and changes in hormones.

Are there any side effects with this treatment?

There are virtually no side effects. However on rare occasions there may be a slight possibility of mild side effects such as transient redness, excessive thirst, or nausea immediately after the treatment which is invariably resolved by drinking water. These are all short-term effects that disappear in a few hours.

Laser Lipo

How does laser lipo work?

One of the first laser-based liposuction treatments, laser lipo involves a tiny laser fiber (about the size of a hair) that is inserted into the skin. The laser fiber then gets moved back and forth, delivery energy into the fat cells so they can be drained away. The laser also interacts with the skin to help promote shrinkage and tightening—for an overall slimmer, more contoured look.

How long does the treatment take?

The laser lipo treatment, itself, should take less than an hour. However, we recommend laser lipo in combination with Aqualipo (water-powered liposuction) for the best results. This could

What kind of results can I expect to see?

You and your doctor can discuss your problem areas and goals for the procedure. Each person can expect to see personalized results—depending on your body makeup and your goals. Your doctor will be able to give you a better idea of what results are realistic and possible.

Where does the removed fat go?

The fat removed during laser lipo will be burned off just like during a normal metabolic process (for example, digesting or working out). When you have a laser lipo procedure done in combination with Aqualipo, the fat will be suctioned out and drained using a gentle machine.

Is laser lipo safe?

The word “laser” may be intimidating to some, but laser lipo is a safe and gentle procedure. Smartlipo, for example, is an FDA-approved procedure that eliminates the need for cutting and tearing away of fat (as in traditional liposuction). Because of its gentle nature, laser lipo can be performed without general anesthesia.

Which areas of the body can be treated with laser lipo?

Laser lipo can be effective at eliminating fat from problem areas like your midsection, arms, thighs, arms, chin, and more.

How soon will I see results?

Many clients start seeing results after just one treatment. You may experience some swelling in the days to follow, as your body recovers from the changes. Within a few days to a week, you should start seeing real results!

Will the weight stay off after the treatment?

Contrary to what you may have heard, the weight is not going to come back in a different area or grow right back. That being said, if you want to maintain your new figure, you should plan to maintain a balanced diet and incorporate regular exercise into your lifestyle.

The Brazilian Butt Lift procedure is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately.
